dammit, i wanted to sleep in.

it's a holiday, dammit. i have the day off.
i should be sleeping in. why the hell am i not sleeping in?
because i am excited. excited that i am going to see the movie pride & prejudice today.

and the excitement's been building all week, since a friend of mine discovered that it was actually opening a week earlier in limited release. the following is our e-mail exchange to prove just how austen-geeky we are:

D: So it's finally settled that we are travelling all the state to Berkeley to see the movie! This is going to be fun indeed!

me: i do hope i find the proper hat for the occasion. i find that while traveling to the country, it does get a tad chilly.

D: yes, it does and a crisp hat should suit you just fine my dear. I can be at the Union City BART Station then and we can begin our journey to the country and meet K there. Oh! what a wonderful afternoon it will be!

me: any hour for our departure would be fine by me. should we begin our journey in the early morning hours, i can spend the duration of our trip contemplating wistfully upon the movie. that will make the time we pass all the more enjoyable!

and while i'm at it:

damn you, keira knightley. in king arthur, you got to make out with clive owen while ioan gruffudd pretended to lust after you. in pirates of the caribbean, you got to make out with orlando bloom when you knew jack davenport wanted to marry you. in love actually, you let your husband's best friend (andrew lincoln) tell you that he's completely in love with you and then you went back inside to your husband (and that's just wrong). thankfully, in bend it like beckham, jonathan rhys-meyers wasn't a damn bit interested in you, so HA!

and i know in pride & prejudice that you're going to take offense to matthew macfadyen just because you have to, but in the end, you're gonna end up kissing him too, damn you. but he'll never give you that longing look that colin firth was so famous for.

anyway, stop showing up in movies where i have a crush on someone. it's disconcerting knowing that your underbite is going to be making out with anybody.

damn you, keira knightley.
