i wish i could quit you

damn that nathan lane. he went on the today show this past monday and totally clowned brokeback mountain, which was really funny at the time, but it ruined me for watching this movie.

to contribute to my ruination, he also did a musical rendition of brokeback mountain to the tune of "oklahoma" on letterman last night.

so i went to see brokeback mountain in berkeley tonight with my friends c, m & m's nephew s, and as great as the movie was, i couldn't get nathan lane's voice out of my head, twanging, "i wish i could quit you."

it was SO distracting.

m cried & i tried not to laugh when jake gyllenhaal uttered the magic words. a totally emotional moment, completely ruined.

i wish i could quit you.
(hey, it's STILL funny. go figure.)
