in edwardian times
i'm a sucker for british period pieces. so when pbs ran a reality show based on an upstairs, downstairs type of existence called manor house, i watched it intently and loved every minute of it. i felt like watching it again, so i rented the whole series and just spent the last six hours watching all the episodes back-to-back.
i didn't catch this comment the first time i watched it, by the pompous ass of a husband about his good lady wife:
poor woman doesn't try very hard to groom herself properly, can't hold very coherent conversations, and obviously isn't much more than a bimbo in real life. but isn't it great that her husband is proud of her and even said so on the telly?
what a guy.
